Stainless Outer Cable for "CRISPER" Shift manufactured by Nissen Cable.
The new outer cable "CRISPER" jointly developed by SimWorks and Nissen Cable is based on the reliability of conventional stainless steel outer cables and is a model created as an option for users who want more sensitive operation and high-precision shifting and braking performance.
With recent 11-13 speed drivetrains and mechanical disc brakes, the precision of the cable and outer casing is directly linked to the feel of the operation. CRISPER reduces "stroke loss (operation loss due to compression)" by increasing the thickness of the inner coil and narrowing the spacing between the windings. This allows for more accurate transmission of lever input, making even precise shift adjustments smoother. The lever touch also changes sharply when braking.
Even though electronic shifting and hydraulic brakes are becoming mainstream, SimWorks values the "feel at your fingertips" and comfortable riding feel for riders who love cable-driven systems. CRISPER is not an upgraded version of conventional products, but a "refined option" that meets higher demands .
The coiled wires of the outer cable, which are generally produced in steel, are replaced with stainless steel. It features a rust-resistant coating in a transparent color.
Of course, a polyethylene inner liner is also included to lighten the pull of the brake lever.
The outer diameter for brake cable is 5 mm, and 1.5 mm or 1.6 mm inner wires can be used.
Considering the recent increase in the number of vehicles with disc brakes, the diversification of cable routing, and the use of full outer cables, we offer our products in a total length of 3 m (generally, 2 m is the norm). This means that there is almost no possibility of insufficient length in the event of a problem.

RECOMMEND INSTALLATION METHOD TO MAXIMIZE THE PERFORMANCE OF THE OUTER CABLE
Before installation, leave the outer cable in a straight position for half a day to a day to remove any initial shrinkage before use.
For cutting, use an outer cut guide or a high-precision wire cutter.
After cutting, the coating and coil are deburred and the liner tube is drilled.
Fluorine-based oil or silicone-based oil is applied to the inner cable.
